Among the many notables who preferred Corn Cobs were Generals Black Jack Pershing and Douglas MacArthur. In fact, the large-bowled Missouri Meerschaum became the symbol for General MacArthur. Throughout World War II he was rarely seen without his Cob and it was always present whenever he was photographed.
